I remember visiting my grandparents house where she had a nice porch swing just waiting to be sat upon. My sisters and I couldn't wait to be the first one to jump up onto that swing and just have a good old time sitting there swinging just to beat the band. We would swing back and forth back and forth trying to see which side of the swing went the farthest. Of course both sides went the same distance but when you're young you don't think about those Einstein principles of nature, you're just there having fun. Isn't that the purpose of a porch swing, to have fun?

As I got older I would sometimes visit my grandparents with my Dad without my sisters. I would sit on that porch swing and look through the wish books looking at the newest and greatest toys. When I was finished with my wishing I would close my eyes sitting there swinging and dreaming about what it would be like to own that toy. Actually some of my more inspired moments came from sitting on that swing with the wind blowing on my face as I would swing in time with some tune in my head. I would dream the dreams of a future father and what his bride to be might be. I would dream the dreams of a future business leader and what that might be like.

As you can see a porch swing can be a very important investment into a child's life. To a child it is a place of comfort, a place of excitement and a place to dream dreams. A porch swing can help the child become free of boredom and can give memories when he is old thinking back to the days when he was a child. A porch swing can help a child explore options as he begins to grow and think about the future. A porch swing can help a child with planning that future project or create a new verse for a song. A porch swing can help a child know who he is and where he belongs. All of these are important life quality moments for a child.
